Description
Disopyramide is a Class IA antiarrhythmic agent with negative inotropic properties that has been used off-label for decades in the management of obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. It reduces left ventricular outflow tract obstruction by decreasing myocardial contractility. While not specifically approved for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, it remains a treatment option when other therapies are not suitable.
