Description
Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole antibiotic and antiprotozoal agent used to treat anaerobic bacterial infections and certain parasitic infections. It is used off-label in managing inflammatory bowel conditions including cap polyposis as part of combination therapy. The drug works by disrupting DNA synthesis in susceptible organisms.
