Description
Riboflavin (vitamin B2) is a precursor to flavin cofactors essential for mitochondrial electron transport chain function. High-dose riboflavin has shown therapeutic benefit in certain mitochondrial disorders and organic acidurias by enhancing residual enzyme activity. It is particularly studied in mitochondrial DNA depletion syndromes and complex I deficiencies.
